Durban Poison came together in the summer of 2009 through a series
of cosmic reactions that connected this charismatic group of four.
Playing shows every couple of weeks since they began has earned
them a reputation of being one of the most energetic snotty rock n roll
bands in Victoria, BC. Durban was banned from a club in town on their
first headlining gig for Mattis attempt to bring a bottle of Jagermeister
on stage, which remanents are probably still scattered around back.
In January, 2010 Durban went into the Hive studios (Burnaby, BC) and
recorded a record 25 songs live-off-the-floor in 2 days with legendary
producer/engineer Jesse Gander ( D.O.A., the Subhumans, the Jolts, etc.).
At the Stereophonic Tonic cd release party someone drugged Matti on
Rhohypnol/GHB/?? and fucked out of his mind - still managed to play
12 songs and remembered 1. An hour long interview and live acoustic
song was featured on whatsradio.com podcast a couple days after the
cd release. Now, the boys prepare for their first tour across Canada,
from Victoria to Quebec City and back, 27 days, August 2010.
